イタチザメ Tiger Shark • 〜〜このオレ様が海のトラ イタチザメとは情けねえ • I am a tiger in the sea but, miserably, they call me “weasel”〜〜 • イタチザメとは：亜熱帯・熱帯の沿岸域にすみ、時に海水浴場や港にまで侵入します。全長6mを越える大型のサメで、大きな口と頑丈な鋭い歯をもっているので危険です。ホホジロザメの次に危険なサメといわれますが、岸近くまで入ってくるので、特に注意をする必要があります。体に虎のようなシマ模様があるので、簡単に見分けることができます。メジロザメ科のサメは胎盤を作り、胎仔はへその緒を通して栄養ももらって成長しますが、イタチザメは胎盤を作らず、胎仔は薄い卵殻の中の液から栄養を摂取して成長します。その他にも色々な点で他のメジロザメ科のサメと違う興味深いサメです。 • Tiger Shark: Tiger shark inhabits coastal waters of the tropical and subtropical oceans, and sometimes goes into the bathing areas and ports. This is a large shark, growing more than 6 m in total length, and has a large mouth with strong and sharp teeth. This is one of the most dangerous sharks, but is easily distinguishable from other dangerous sharks by presence of the distinct stripes on the body.
