Latest scenes and clips from La Palmas Volcano as it continues to erupt. Whilest the Lava destroys everything in its path, the ash falling is causing another problem as volunteers and soldiers do their best to remove the ash from buildings before they collapse with the weight of the ash that is building up on them. • In one scene you will see the Army dropping flower petals on to an ash covered cemetery. This is because in the Canary Islands it is tradition to visit graves on the 1st November. As access is closed to the cemetery, the army kindly dropped flowers onto the cemetery for the families that couldn’t visit their loved ones. If you find yourself anywhere in Spain on November 1st, you'll see families heading to the cemetery to honour those that have passed. The graves are prepared days in advance so that everything is ready for the 1st of November, complete with cleaning and bleaching of the gravestones. The chrysanthemum flower is typical and predominantly place. This experience allows a token of remembrance and respect, as well as a closeness for those who have come to offer prayers for eternal rest. • This video is to raise some awareness to two great charity causes helping the situation in La Palma directly, one that is helping animals that may have been affected and also the main general relief effort in La Palma.
