And with that, lets talk about an important exercise for adding mass to the upper arm, or more specifically the triceps: The Lying BB or EZ Bar Extension. • This movement is excellent for increasing size and thickness to all three heads of the triceps, and is one of the most basic and productive exercises for building this muscle. Consider it like BB Curls for biceps, Bench Press for chest, or Squats for legs. • Watch the video carefully and take note of Luke's form. His elbows point straight up and remain in place throughout the set. He controls the decent of the bar to a point either in the middle of the forehead or right behind the top of the head (both methods should be employed from workout to workout). He then powerfully contracts the triceps only to push the bar back to the starting position. Notice there is no shoulder movement, as this is not a press, and the elbows remain at all times. • Your homework is to perfect this exercise in your mind because you will be tested in the gym with it this week.
