The Top 40 songs from the surveys of LA radio stations KRLA and KFWB for the weeks ending June 6, 13, 16, 20 and 27 in 1964. • • Unlike for my books, Ranking the ‘60s and Ranking the ‘70s (with Bill Carroll), I used a simple reverse ranking system, assigning 1 point to No. 40, 2 points to No. 39, etc. I kept it simple since we’re dealing with 5 weeks rather than a longer duration, like a year. • • Three songs were copy-protected so I substituted covers for them.
