Due to its position, it offers a variety of landscapes. Its proximity to the sea combined with the large number of tourist attractions and amenities make Chora the most preferable place to be on the island. It has kept an authentic and traditional character and it has a strong local color. Portara, Naxos’ most popular landmark, lies on the neighbouring Palatia Islet.
