This illustration has a lot of detail, so I will draw some of it. This will help me with the colouring.] • 03:13 Step 2 – Colouring the sketch • [The second step is to colour with watercolour pencils. This is the first layer of colour, which for me is like a canvas for the second layer of colour. Normally I only add a second layer of colour to the parts I want to emphasize. But for this illustration, it's probably 80%.] • 07:10 Step 3 – Adding water • [The third step is to add water to the watercolour pencils. For some artists this is the end of the creative process, but as I want a strong, vibrant illustration, I will add a second layer of colour after adding the water (see Step 4)] • 09:55 Step 4 – Using watercolours • [The final step is to add the second layer of paint. Sometimes I wait until the drawing is dry and use watercolour pencils again. Other times, like for this illustration, I'll use watercolours as a second layer of colour and also to add more detail where it's needed.] • 14:39 Step 5 – The final touch • 15:42 The finished illustration of Steampunk Girl • ____________________________ • You can check my other channels if you like: • Lifestyle vlog: • Slow Life, Coffee Moments Homemade Food: / @aleksandra_c • Life with dogs vlog: • Dogs, nature, adventure: / @aleksandra.eva.c • ____________________________ • Channel info: • Hi, I'm Aleksandra, artist/illustrator. • On this channel I share drawing and painting videos (time-lapses, ASMR, drawing tutorials). You don't have to be an artist to enjoy the process of making art. I call it art therapy 🎨 • My favourite art materials are graphite pencils, coloured pencils, watercolour pencils and watercolours (I love to combine watercolours with watercolour pencils, this combination gives me strong and vivid colours in my illustrations). I love to experiment, so I always like to try different things. I like to create illustrations with different themes: people, food, animals, steampunk, fantasy world. When I create, I enjoy my coffee ☕ (yes, I drink a lot of coffee). • I created this channel to share my love for art with others. I hope you enjoy the content, whether you are a fellow art lover, an art student, or just want to see how a piece of art is created. • Subscribe to be notified about my new videos 👍 • Aleksandra C. - Artist/Illustrator, Photographer, Filmmaker
