Recorded on May 17, 2022. • Film Description: Exactly 60 years since its release, Vivre Sa Vie feels as vital and contemporary as ever. The film follows Nana, portrayed by Godard’s muse, Anna Karina, as she tries to leave her ordinary life to become an actress. Over twelve distinct chapters, the film narrates Anna’s slowly falls into a dangerous life of sex work. While a lesser director might have made this into a sentimental tale about a fallen women, Godard gives us a complex, nuanced, deeply human treatment of the Anna’s life – her own to live, as the film’s title tells us.
