This tutorial has several levels. The original version by Ben E King was in the key of A. One of the greatest ever covers of Stand By Me was by Tracy Chapman live on Letterman in 2015 - in the key of G. The song also has one of the most recognised bass lines in pop history. • In this lesson I show you how to play it in the original key, and include most of the bass line. • I also show how to play it in G using easy open chords like Tracy Chapman does. We go from basic strumming, to slightly more complex. • Finally, we learn it in the key of C, which allows us to play the entire bass line along with the chords: it's loads of fun and quite easy. And at the end I take you through playing it finger style including the bass line. • But wait! There's more...if you make it to the end you will see how to play the orchestral solo section along with the chords as well! • I'd love it if people could post their favourite versions of the song below in the comments! • Download all 3 charts here: • https://onechart.ecwid.com/Stand-by-m... • (and don't forget: the logo on the charts link ack to the video!) • Tracy Chapman live on Letterman: • • Tracy Chapman Performs Stand By Me ... • Lesson on palm muting: • • Palm Muting in 5 minutes!
