Hannah's review of the LiquidLogic Alpha 75 kayak from a female and small paddler perspective. The Alpha replaced the Stomper and Jefe in Liquid Logic's creeker lineup of whitewater kayaks. With two sizes, the Alpha 90 and Alpha 75 are basically a medium-small Alpha and a medium-large Alpha. Liquid logic decided that this was a more economical approach than making three sizes of the Alpha. This definitely leaves something on the table as previously you had the Stomper in 70, 80, and 90, the Jefe Chico, Jefe, and Jefe Grande, and the Remix in 4 sizes, with a youth option. • Designed by Pat Keller and Shane Benedict, the Alpha is the first creeker Liquidlogic has released with kick-rocker. The rocker and width profiles create the feel of the Alpha as a dominant creek racing design which demands an active and athletic style from the paddler. This is in keeping with the lessons learned from the Braaap, which also was defined by the kick rocker and width profiles. • From Liquid Logic on the Alpha: • We started the 9-foot fast creeker river runner revival and the Alpha is our latest creation in the class. This machine has a large smooth transitioning bow rocker to gobble up holes and boofs while the center section of the hull is flatter to help with speed, stability, and agility. Longer boats no longer have to be hard to paddle. This baby is nimble! The subtle kick rockered stern profile is modeled after the Braaap which gives it a predictable quick carving fun feel on the water.
