I explored Salar De Uyuni in March when the flats became a gigantic mirror because of the thin layer of water that forms on top. • You can skip to 7:30 if you just want to see the salt flats but you'll lose some context on why/problems we ran into getting there. • Back in March 2023, I was invited to go on a trip to the Salt Flats in Bolivia. If you don't know anything about them it’s the largest flat in the world and at this specific time of year parts of it fill with water to create a gigantic mirror that can even be seen from space. So of course I wanted to go, I've seen photos of this place before and it was near the top of my travel list. We booked the flights and 3 days later I found myself in Columbia. I recently started vlogging my travels but as a beginner, I didn’t really know how. So to help guide the story I provided a voiceover narration and hope to get better at talking on camera in the moment. There were a lot of high-stress situations on this trip so I just either didn’t feel like vlogging or I'd forget to explain later. One of the main reasons why I didn’t vlog earlier is because I just felt like everything I made had to be at a certain standard but I never wanted to bring around my camera gear to film myself. I found it too distracting and annoying to bring around. I swallowed my video ego and started making videos on my phone this year and I'm really glad I did because they’re some of the best memories I have. • I hope you enjoy the video and my little explanation. Stoked to learn from last year's vlogs and to get better at them for 2024.
