Le colonie lunari si sono dichiarate indipendenti e proclamate Impero Unificato di Giganos, il cui regime militare dichiara guerra alla Federazione Terrestre. Le ostilità vanno estendendosi colpendo le colonie spaziali e la stessa Terra. Giganos, grazie ad armi come il Mass Driver installato sulla superficie lunare o i Metal Armor (MA), è riuscito ad occupare il 70% del pianeta.
