Keplers Second Law amp Central Force Of Gravity

Kepler's second law directly proves that gravity is a central force. Kepler's second law states a line drawn connecting the planet and the sun sweeps equal areas in equal time intervals. Newton showed that Kepler's second law is true because the force of gravity is pointed exactly towards the sun. In other words, gravity is a central force. We usually make this connection, in high school physics, using calculus and invoking the concept of conservation of angular momentum. We show that a central force causes zero torque on the planets conserving it's angular momentum. However, in this video, we will build the same connection using geometry, the method sir Issac Newton originally used in his book - Principia.
