Andrew Rannells discusses his directorial debut with an episode of Modern Love. • Modern Love is a co-production of Amazon Studios and The New York Times, and each episode brings to life a different story that has been inspired by the newspaper's popular Modern Love column. This anthology series explores love in all of its complicated and beautiful forms, as well as its effects on the human connection, and the episode Rannells directed is based upon a personal essay that he penned for the NYT column. • Andrew Rannells is a Grammy Award-winning stage, film, and television actor who was most recently seen in Netflix’s The Prom alongside Meryl Streep, Nicole Kidman, and James Corden, as well as Ryan Murphy’s Netflix adaptation of The Boys in the Band, opposite Matt Bomer, Zachary Quinto and Jim Parsons. Andrew originated the role of Elder Price in the award-winning musical The Book of Mormon, which earned him a Tony nomination for Best Lead Actor in a Musical. Rannells can currently be seen starring in the third season of the Showtime series, Black Monday opposite Don Cheadle and Regina Hall. This role earned him a Critics Choice Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. The series centers around a group of outsiders who take on the blue-blood, old-boys club of Wall Street during the worst stock market crash in the history of Wall Street. • To watch Modern Love, please visit https://goo.gle/3BnBfoi. • Moderated by Megan Green.
