This video is intended for students in the common core of Biology or Geology, or any other interested public (high school students for example). It explains very clearly what are the characteristic elements of a geological map, then the method used to make a geological section from a simplified geological map, with a geological structure of the folded type. • By convention, on the proposed exercise, the North direction is towards the top of the map. On the other hand, the representation of the signs of dip may vary slightly depending on the charts, with an indication or not of the degree of dip. There is also a specific dip sign for vertical layers, which is not mentioned here.
