It was never uploaded to YouTube and is a cover of a certain famous song. The main melody is arguably recognizable on sheet music: https://musescore.com/user/50327411/s.... There are some word plays that I quite like, also a Grim Fandango reference (that I still haven't played through). My only issue is that the jalan en noka simile is more clever than I originally intended. I was mistaken and thought that jalan was the original version of noka ; this isn't the case however, noka was the original (like mi ) and jalan was the failed replacement ( sina , the mirror image). When I wrote this, I meant mi being jalan as the original version and noka being sina , which doesn't even make much sense, but it worked out wonderfully. Too bad I can't take credit for it. • About the animation: I am rather proud of the ending sequence. The rest well, originally it was supposed to by lip-synced (at 4fps, originally only at 2!) with some smaller animations around the main figure as the song went on. The only solid idea I had was pouring Aloe Vera on a wound when it's mentioned (don't do this; it's just a play on apply cold water to the burned area meme, not medical advice). This obviously didn't happen, so after delaying the project for 8 months, I put up a poll what to do with it and this version won. Now, I am very well aware that the lyrics are not functional. To this, all I can say is I DON'T CARE, IT LOOKS GOOD (in my humble opinion). • Oh and about the music: it's titled Hungarian Kid Without Glasses , because it's in the Hungarian minor scale in C# (that's why they don't need glasses). • Finally, this was the first song I recorded with my then-newest mic, the sound of which I found disappointing. Apparently, as I learned later, I was just on the verge of getting a cold and it messed up my voice. By the time I fully recovered, had time and actually planned to record, I got Covid, which caused my lung capacity to halve and made me practically unable to record for over 6 months. Smoking also didn't help, but I'm already recovering from that (sure, it's been only 30 days since I quit after way too many years, the results are already great though). • Final fun facts: • The animation is 172x72 pixels natively (exported at 2000% scale to 3440x1440); • The final video render is only 5 310 221 bytes (5.06 MB); • This project made me realize that video editing and animation is not something I truly enjoy; • It also made me realize that delay is a cool effect that I should use more; • While I don't have an exact timeline, the song was ready exactly 1 year ago (as of the time of upload); the beat was made ~2 months earlier; • This was the first fully original song that I made (from start to finish) after getting my bachelor's degree. • So yeah, G G A G to me I guess.
