Amoeba proteus, the real life microscopic blob! • Amoeba proteus is a microscopic protist found in lakes and ponds that moves by stretching its pseudopodia (false feet) to crawl around. It has no distinct shape and moves very slowly which makes it difficult to spot under the microscope. Amoeba feed by phagocytosis, a process in which the amoeba engulf smaller protist. It can be seen at the 2 minute mark feeding on Paramecium busaria and some footage shows remnants of paramecium inside the Amoeba. • Music: / the-blob-amoeba-proteus
