GUIDE | KARACHI TO KHUNJERAB PASS | TRAVELOGUE • 11 Nights | 09 Cities | PKR 110,000 • This travelogue is about a road-trip to Khunjerab Pass from Karachi. If you are looking for an adventurous yet pleasurable time-out with your friends and family then this one is for you. It includes everything you would need to plan your trip from travel expenses to tips and suggestions for a safe travel. • The best time to travel to Khunjerab Pass is between 01 June and 01 September. This is considered as the peak tourism season at this part of the country therefore you may expect a little haste and crowdedness especially in places like Naran and Hunza. • QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS • We will be doing another video soon where we will be giving answers to all of your questions. Therefore if you have any questions, please feel free to comment here and we will make sure to answer them in our next video. • TOTAL BUDGET (PKR 110,000) • We travelled for this road-trip as a family of two adults and one child. The total travel plan included 11 nights and 12 days in total and it costed us exactly PKR 110,000. The distance from Karachi to Khunjerab Pass is 2,300 Kms. The round trip will be between 4,500 Kms and 5,000 Kms. • ACCOMODATION – PKR 3,000 (One double-bed room) x 11 Nights = PKR 33,000 • You can find decent hotels/guest houses in all these cities within the budget of PKR 3,000 therefore accommodation for 11 nights will not cost you more than PKR 33,000. At most of these places, you will find complimentary Wi-Fi internet and breakfast. • MEALS (PKR 30,000) – PKR 2,500 x 12 Days = PKR 30,000 • The average meal cost for the three of us was around PKR 1,000 for lunch and almost PKR 1,500 for dinner therefore the meals will cost you an average of around PKR 30,000 for 12 days. On some days you will need to pay for the breakfast as well which is why I have kept the budget for dinner on a higher side so that it could cover for breakfast as well when needed. • REFRESHEMENTS (PKR 9,000) – PKR 750 x 12 Days = PKR 9,000 • There are many things that you will come across for munching and drinking during this trip therefore it is important to keep a separate budget for refreshments. We kept PKR 750 per day for the same which was quite sufficient. Our total budget of PKR 110,000 included PKR 9,000 for refreshments. • FUEL (PKR 30,000) – PKR 100 x 300 litres = PKR 30,000 • We travelled in a small 1,000 cc manual Suzuki Wagon R therefore we got a good fuel average of 15.50 Kms per litre. You will need between 300 and 400 litres of petrol depending on the fuel average of your car.
