As an advocate for prospectors’ rights, I take these accusations seriously and want to clarify my stance while providing factual and transparent information about the recent restrictions affecting prospectors in the Ballarat region. • The changes to prospecting access in Ballarat have sparked widespread concern among prospectors, and it’s crucial to discuss how Section 7 of the Victorian Mineral Resources (Sustainable Development) Act 1990 has been applied to this historically significant goldfield. While this legislation has been in place for decades, its recent implementation in Ballarat marks a significant change that directly impacts prospectors’ activities. • I also discuss the PMAV’s response to my video and share my thoughts on the importance of advocacy, transparency, and collaboration. Advocacy for prospecting rights is essential, especially when new restrictions threaten access to cherished goldfields like Ballarat.
