If you've yet to hear it, Cubensis was the first single from the upcoming Intronaut album that I tracked drums for, entitled 'Fluid Existential Inversions'. Truth be told, I think it's the coolest thing I've been a part of to date. Writing learning the parts challenged me in ways I hadn't been challenged before (there's some truly whacky stuff on this album!), working alongside Sacha, David, Joe was a real pleasure. Cubensis was one of the first tracks I wrote for, is certainly one of my personal favorites. • I tracked the album in L.A. with Josh Newell, the album mix was done by Kurt Ballou. I didn't track any full drum videos in the studio - we had 3 days to track 10 of the most difficult songs I had ever learned, so my main focus was on getting those done well, I didn't want to add in the variable of trying to film any of it. Upon returning home, I tracked a few of the songs again while the material was still fresh to make some drum play-through's. So this is not the album take (or mix, or even the same studio. Lol, this is just my basement), but I played it pretty note-for-note to what made it on the album. • speaking of the mix, this video was mixed by Adam Nolly Getgood. As usual, Nolly did a phenomenal job, I always love what he's able to get out of the drums that I track here.
