Thiruvathirakali or Kaikottikali is a unique dance form of Kerala depicting devotion through graceful rhythmic movements aligned with melodious vocal music. It is mostly performed by ladies in traditional Kerala attire during festivals like Thiruvathira, Onam and other auspicious occasions. A Thiruvathirakali repertoire usually consists of Ganapathi sthuthi, Saraswathi sthuthi, Padam (excerpts from Kathakali padams), Kummi, Kurathi, Vanchipattu and Mangalam.
