The Newman's Lady Fern is found in only 4 locations in the whole of Britain, at least one of them in the Cairngorms. • It is very similar to the Alpine Lady Fern (differing in having some slightly different genes) but has a more crisp appearance giving the herringbone structure like that of a wall cotoneaster. It likes sheltered corries in the mountains and its rhizomes can be buried by snow.
