M.) im Bezirk Wasseramt erstreckt sich rund 3,5 km östlich des Kantonshauptorts Solothurn auf der Schotterebene östlich der Emme am Jurasüdfuss im Solothurner Mittelland. • Im Norden bildet die natürliche Gemeindegrenze die Aare. In westlicher Richtung grenzt die Emme den Ort von Zuchwil ab. Früher überschwemmten Hochwasser häufig weite Teile der Ebene. Nach Osten hin erstreckt sich Luterbach über die heute kanalisierten Bachbetten des Dorfbachs und des Rüttibachs bis in den Dornwald und den Affolterwald. Zu Luterbach gehört die Siedlung Vorholz (431 m ü. M.) am Rüttibach. Nachbargemeinden von Luterbach sind Deitingen, Derendingen, Riedholz und Zuchwil. • • Zuchwil (433 m ü. M.) im Bezirk Wasseramt ist nach Solothurn, Olten und Grenchen als Vorort der Stadt Solothurn die viertgrösste Gemeinde des Kantons. • • • Luterbach (431 m above sea level) is a municipality in the Wasseramt district and is situated 3.5 km east of the cantonal capital of Solothurn. The village extends across the gravel plain east of the Emme river at the southern foot of the Jura in the Solothurn Mittelland. • • The Aar is a natural municipal boundary in the north. The Emme separates Luterbach from Zuchwil towards the west. In the past, large parts of the plain of Luterbach were frequently flooded when the water level was high. Therefore, the original village was built about 1 km away from the rivers. Towards the east, Luterbach extends across the plain and the canalized creek beds of the Dorfbach and the Rüttibach up to the Dornwald forest and the Affolterwald forest. The Vorholz settlement (431 m above sea level) by the Rüttibach also belongs to Luterbach.
