Split Lines are part of the Mold Tools’ subset of features in SOLIDWORKS. By creating a silhouette, projecting, or intersecting a sketch with a face, sketch lines can be added to any face to help the creation of other features, especially lofts and sweeps. When creating split lines using the projection method, a sketch is needed, and the chosen faces also need to be selected. Using the split lines feature, the sketch lines are projected onto the selected faces, and divide the faces into multiple regions as defined by the sketch. Once the split line is created, these selected regions can have a different appearance than the other regions, and function as a separate face. • To learn more tips and tricks in the SOLIDWORKS software, the team at GoEngineer is consistently creating new helpful content to solve your modeling problems.
