In this video, I'll share with you exactly how Ozempic and Wegovy work. These drugs involve the use of Semaglutide at varying doses, which was initially utilized to manage blood sugar levels in individuals with type 2 diabetes. So drug companies found that this drug also be used in weight loss. • Ozempic has since been repackaged as Wegovy with different dosages and purposes for overweight or obese individuals who have health problems such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or type 2 diabetes. Semaglutide belongs to a class of drugs that mimic your body's naturally produced hormone, GLP-1. • Ozempic and Wegovy work by reducing your appetite and making you feel full, which helps with weight loss since you consume fewer calories. It also slows down the emptying of your stomach, so you feel full for longer, and increases insulin sensitivity, which helps control blood sugar levels and prevents the conversion of sugar to fat. • I'm sceptical of anything touted as a miracle cures, I believe Ozempic and Wegovy are fantastic medications that can help lots of people lose weight - if used in the right way, especially when combined with lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet and regular exercise. However, it's important to weigh the risk vs. benefit scale, as no medication is without side effects. • If you are overweight or obese and have co-morbidities, have made lifestyle changes, and discussed it with your health professional, wegovy may be a great option to help you lose weight. But if you're of a healthy weight and looking for a no-effort way to lose a few pounds, I wouldn't recommend it.
