Hello nerds 🤓 Do you struggle with clogged airbrushes? Here’s my tips for avoiding the dreaded clogs: • 1- bigger needle - using a .3 or .4 needle gives you so much more flexibility to use thicker paints without them clogging the airbrush • 2- improve workflow - get into the habit of giving the airbrush a rinse through with cleaner AS SOON AS you’re doing with a colour, just spray out any excess paint, add a few drops of cleaner, swizzle with a brush, and spray that out • 3- less paint in the airbrush - the longer paint sits in the airbrush the more time it has to dry in there and form clogs, so don’t over fill it! • 4- lube it up - before you put any paint in the airbrush use rinse some cleaner or thinner for whatever paint medium your working with (e.g. white spirits for oils/enmals) through the airbrush, this helps to lube up the internals with less chance of paint getting attached inside • 5- NEVER LEAVE PAINT IN THE AIRBRUSH - if you follow number 2 well this won’t happen but the biggest sin with airbrushing is leaving paint in the airbrush for time. You’re just asking for the paint to dry and clog in there, and that means long cleaning sessions • Hope the tips help you!
