Dash cam footage of Hanahan SC. Officer Sean Kilbane, and Sgt. Valdez, as Ofc. Kilbane conducts a traffic stop for a window tint violation. He calls for back-up and upon their arrival begins to interview the vehicles occupants. • The driver appears to be intoxicated, and Cpl. C. Carnes requests the occupants to exit the vehicle. Ofc. Kilbane notes the vehicles glass to be bullet proof, which the driver confirms. • Ofc. Kilbane approaches the passengers side and notes a very strong odor of Marijuana emanating from within the interior of the vehicle. When Ofc. Kilbane goes to conduct a pat-down on the vehicles occupants one passenger takes off running. • The running passenger shoots at officers who then return fire killing him. • The running suspect was found dead on scene after pleas by the officers to save his life. Officer Kilbane begs the shot suspect to show his hands. • It was later learned that the dead suspect had only been out of prison a matter of days. He also had a sizable amount of cocaine in his stomach (found at autopsy) and marijuana in his pockets. • The dead suspect fired three rounds at officers, his last casing was found stove-piped in the ejection port of his pistol. Narcotics were found in the interior of the vehicle, as well as a large secret compartment accessible from the trunk that smelled very strong of Marijuana.
