Forefoot Running and Medial Tibial Stress Syndrome

If you’re a forefoot runner grappling with medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints pain on the inside of the shin, slightly above the ankle), you might be landing on your forefoot incorrectly such that you might be making initial ground-contact on your big toe or on the middle of your forefoot instead of on the outer-side of the forefoot, just under the 5th toe. Landing big toe-first during running may have an overstraining ripple effect up the lower leg, resulting in excessive eccentric traction on the inner shin whereas landing towards the outside of your forefoot may hold the rear-foot and ankle more steady which may reduce mechanical strain on the shins. • What a proper forefoot strike looks like during running:    • How Do You Do the Forefoot Strike?   • If you'd like, you can support Run Forefoot and help keep it going by making a donation in any amount of your choosing: https://www.paypal.me/RunForefoot • Or, you can also support Run Forefoot by shopping at the following, and be sure to bookmark the links: • Be Lenka: https://www.dpbolvw.net/click-7600968... • FeelGrounds: https://www.feelgrounds.com/?p=RunFor... • Xero Shoes: https://xeroshoes.com/go/Run_Forefoot • Wilding Shoes: https://bit.ly/3lIygQP • Zappos: https://goo.gl/J1CeAd • Amazon: http://amzn.to/2yvQvT4 • #ShinSplints #ForefootRunning #Fitness
