In 1978 the economic boom was in full swing. Hong Kong soon became a tourist trap, more than ever. No more junks with sails in the harbour. Nathan Road full of glaring neon lights. But sampans remained, thanks heaven. Yet, there is nostalgia, even for that time - 33 years ago. When I came to HK in 1949 there were 1.8 million people.
