The external threats include China, Pakistan, naval incursions on both coasts, and the growing number of radical Islamists in the country. • India has an over 3,000-kilometer border with China and Pakistan, making it vulnerable to attacks from both sides. India's coastline is also highly vulnerable, as seen in the Mumbai attacks. Pakistan is indebted to China and could act as its satellite state, increasing India's risk from both countries. • Another front could be the growing number of radical Islamists in the country. Islam in the Indian subcontinent has undergone Arabization, and young Muslims are now using Allah Hafiz. Kerala is producing volunteers for the Islamic State. If 1% of India's population is radicalized, that would mean 2 million people, and 1% of that would be 20,000 people who could be dangerous to India. • This video also mentions how India is one of the tense areas in the world, although it is a relatively peaceful place. India is a democratic country, but its aforementioned neighbors are not.
