Growing cucumbers can be challenging because they are difficult to pollinate. Most cucumber varieties are monoecious cucumber varieties, which means they have separate male and female flowers. With these cucumber varieties, pollinators must carry pollen from the male flowers to the female flowers. If your area lacks pollinators, we must manually hand pollinate cucumbers for fruit set. This can lead to cucumber problems setting fruit. • This cucumber plant is one of the special varieties of gynoecious cucumber plants, which have ALL FEMALE FLOWERS. It is also one of the parthenocarpic cucumber varieties, which means they do not require pollination to set fruit, so interplanting monoecious cucumbers is not necessary for cross-pollination! Because they don't require pollinators, they will grow more cucumbers than normal varieties - MUCH MORE! • At the end, I also share a gardening tip that will keep your cucumber plants producing more cucumbers for longer by tricking the cucumber into thinking it's younger than it really is, which will cause more cucumber production!
