This recipe for a spiced Demerara (brown sugar) syrup is amazing with any type of dark spirit. Wether your alcohol of choice be Rum, Bourbon, Rye, or anything else, this syrup will add a nice deep and rich sweetness with some spiced up flavours to go with it. Shipping available! • Spiced Demerara Syrup Recipe • Ingredients: • 60 grams Demerara Style Sugar (⅓ cup) • 5 grams Whole Allspice (½ tablespoon) • 5 grams Whole Cinnamon (½ large stick) • 120 grams Water (½ cup) • • Instructions: • In a dry saucepan, add the allspice and cinnamon. Set the heat of your stovetop to medium-high. Toast the spices while moving the pan continuously so that all sides of the spices get toasted evenly (about 5-8 minutes). Once the air is fragrant and you can smell the spices, add the water and the sugar. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved. Simmer until small bubbles start to form. Take off heat and let cool for 20 minutes. Strain out the spices and bottle syrup in a clean glass container. Seal and refrigerate. • If you wish to have a stronger spice flavoured syrup you may let your spices steep for a longer period of time than 20 minutes, that is totally up to you. 20 minutes is suggested to avoid having a syrup that is over flavoured since we want other ingredients in the cocktail that may have lighter flavour profiles to shine through. • https://topshelfdistillers.com/
