In this video we would like to share with you our DIY experience in successfully diagnosing our Oil Fired Furnace which wasn't working. If you have an oil heating furnace or boiler which is not firing, these steps might be able to help you diagnose the common problems so that you can repair or fix the unit. Just like with most mechanical units, fixing or repairing is usually relatively easy, but diagnosing the problem is the difficult part. • The triangle of fire dictates that for a fire to happen, 3 things must present - a source of ignition, fuel and air or oxygen. The mechanics of a burner is quite simple. If your furnace is not working then most likely the problems would be the electronic igniter or transformer failure or malfunction, no heating oil or diesel fuel in the tank, fuel did not reach the firing gun which could be due to a clog in the injector or line, the present of air bubbles, pump malfunction or leaking causing lack of pressure, CAD cell failure, electrode failure, incorrect firing pin gap, motor not working, control module failure, faulty connections to thermostat, blown fuses, and many other factors. • Here are some of the basic stats for our heating system: Model LBR80C112 / 125D20-3A with Burner Model Beckett AFG using Delavan B Nozzle 0.85 gph 80 degree angle, Beckett by Honeywell R71848 Control Module, Beckett 51771U/51824U Electronic Igniter, the General Filter 1A-25A-30, Beckett CleanCut Pump Model A2EA-6520 3-4 GPH 100-150-200 psi with Valve-On Delay, R.W.
