Restoring ‘Grid’ 56006: Bury Hydraulic Group Takes On the Challenge | ELR Autumn Diesel Gala • Welcome to part two of our restoration journey, where the Bury Hydraulic Group (BHG) teams up to revive the last remaining Romanian Class 56 ‘Grid’, locomotive 56006. • After sitting idle for over three years, 56006 has been in need of serious attention, and we were up for the challenge and honoures to help bring it back to life for the East Lancashire Railway’s (ELR) Autumn Diesel Gala. • Facing multiple challenges, both the Class 56 Group and BHG worked tirelessly to diagnose and repair various faults, and now, after much effort, we’re excited to show you the results! • Will we succeed in getting 56006 back on track?
