I was able to switch between subtle break-up or total annihilation by working my guitar's volume control. The octave effect also changes character depending on your dynamics; a softer attack with lower guitar level gives a sweeter, more-pronounced octave, even more so playing higher on the neck with the neck pickup. • Switch the octave effect off and the fuzz gets a harder edge and attack; lower gain settings are great for crunchy rhythm. Higher gain settings get really thick with sustain but still clean-up with the guitar's volume control.
