But I am improving slowly but surely -- it seems like a snail's pace, but at least it's improving. I have not written an update on my site in quite a while but I hope to have one up the first week of May 2011. If you are interested in knowing more feel free to visit my site. • http://tonybostonfund.wordpress.com/ • • Drum Gear business: All gear in this video is the same as listed on my homepage except the 2 crash cymbals and the omission of the 14 floor tom (only 16 floor tom here). All cymbals here are Zildjian K's. Both the crash cymbals are Zildjian K Dark Customs. The crash on my left is 17 and the crash above my ride cymbal is an 18 . So I have taken down the 20 K dark custom ride as a crash for now. The 21 Special Dark Custom Dry Ride and K Sweet hats are the same. • • Ok! The Strokes! This album surprised me. I like it a lot more than I was expecting to. I don't mean to offend Strokes fans. I myself have been a fan since their first album in 2001. To be honest with you though, their albums haven't been in my regular rotation in quite a while. I think like a lot of us that's just because of time. First Impressions of Earth was in 2006! Whoa! 5 years ago? I was diagnosed at the end of 2006 and I recall very well that FIOE was a life soundtrack for me until that point. • • Anyway, my buddy (who is a beastly drummer and musician) played this album for me when it came out and this first track was immediately the stand out to me. I gravitated toward it instantly and wanted to hear it over and over. • • I know that the drumming is not difficult in this song, but given my health condition it was a challenge to me. Almost all drumming is a challenge to me at this time in my life. I can do a lot in my head, but being able to play loud and long enough in the real world can be very hard. I used to play hour-long energetic live shows with my band before I got sick, but I'm far from that now. The good news is that I'm finally on the upward trend of physical health. I am unrecognizable from my self from this time last year -- in a good way. So YAY for that! • • I have never done a drum cover for difficulty anyway though. I do drum covers of songs that I love, to share the passion I feel about them, with others. I love this song. • • Thank you all for your kind words and support.
