Winner and baseball go back to the 1920s when the first town league was organized. In 1948, the Winner Athletics Association built the Leahy Bowl, named for Notre Dame football coaching legend -- and Winner High School standout -- Frank Leahy. The Leahy Bowl has hosted the Winner Pheasants of the former Basin League, American Legion baseball, school, and Little League teams through the years. SDPB goes deep into Winner's baseball history, introducing the leagues, teams, and players that swung for the Pheasants...err...fences. • Find more South Dakota stories at https://www.SDPB.org/DakotaLife • #SouthDakota #Baseball #WinnerSD #SDPB
