Dargason is an English Country Dance first published in Playford in 1651. It has a unique starting formation with 8 people in a line, women on one side men on the other, all facing in. It was adapted by Cecil Sharp in 1911. Found in The Playford Ball. • The tune of the same name was published with the dance. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album A Playford Ball . It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc.https://www.cds-boston.org/ecdc/ • The animation plays at 120 counts per minute. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color.
