Micas do not bind with wax, they are only suspended in it. When the wax melts and the mica is free to move around, you will see beautiful swirling patterns! Once the wax solidifies though, the color will likely be muted. While micas are great for wax melts and wickless candles like this one, we would not recommend using mica in a wicked candle.
