If you've ever wondered when each character in John Carpenter's The Thing (1982) became assimilated, and in what order, this video will answer all of your questions and explain the ending to you. • Up Next: • WHO KILLED WHO IN SCREAM:    • WHO KILLED WHO in Scream (1996)   • WHO KILLED WHO IN SCREAM 2:    • WHO KILLED WHO in Scream 2 (1997)   • WHO KILLED WHO IN SCREAM 3 (SECOND KILLER):    • WHO KILLED WHO in Scream 3 (2000)   • WHO KILLED WHO IN SCREAM 4:    • WHO KILLED WHO in Scream 4 (2011)   • The Thing (1982), while being my absolute favorite John Carpenter movie, is also a much more faithful adaptation of the John W. Campbell novella Who Goes There? than the 1951 original: The Thing From Another World. Carpenter's version sticks much more closely with the themes of paranoia associated with the novella by leaving the viewer just as uncertain as the characters in the movie. For that reason, there is much left to the imagination when trying to place a clear timeline of how the thing was able to infect the crew of Outpost 31: an American research facility located in Antarctica. • But like all great filmmakers, Carpenter inserts as many little clues as he can for us keen eyed observers to piece together the puzzle. And with a the 2011 prequel, various comic book adaptations, a video game, and now a fourth movie in the works from Blumhouse (with Carpenter's involvement), interest in the franchise is at an all time high. Rightfully deserved too, since the 1982 classic boasts some of the best practical effects in horror movie history, with Rob Bottin's horrifying designs. Frequent Carpenter collaborator Dean Cundey is outstanding as the film's cinematographer. Famed Italian composer Ennio Morricone delivers an unsettling yet memorable score. And the cast of characters makes up one of the greatest all male ensembles, with standout performances by Kurt Russell and Keith David. • So take a load off for the next 26 minutes, and get all the answers you need to questions like: Whose shadow belonged to patient zero? Who sabotaged the blood? When did Blair/Norris/Palmer become infected? What really happened to Fuchs? Was Childs human at the end? And how do I know all of this? Let's toss out all of those ridiculous fan theories we've heard for so many years and look at every frame of this movie under a microscopic lens to figure out exactly who killed who in John Carpenter's The Thing. • Music used in this video: • Impending Boom by Kevin MacLeod is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution licence (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/...) • Source: http://incompetech.com/music/royalty-... • Artist: http://incompetech.com/ • Searching For You by White Hex • • If you enjoyed this video and would like to support this channel and watch additional Patron-exclusive content, please check out my Patreon account and follow me on Instagram. • Patreon:   / zackcherry   • Instagram: @retrobitchface • Thumbnail art by @ibtrav (Instagram) • #JohnCarpenter #TheThing #WhoKilledWho
