Paul Henning's successful 'Beverly Hillbillies' led to this 1963 rural-themed sitcom about a small hotel run by a widow (Bea Benaderet) with three girls and a lazy uncle (Edgar Buchanan). It shared the same universe with its spin-off 'Green Acres', and eventually some of the 'Beverly Hillbillies' would make appearances. The show's first two seasons were in black-and-white, moving to color for seasons 3-7. The series took a hit in its sixth season with the death of star Bea Benadaret; June Lockhart was added to the cast a doctor, but not being a member of the family she could not replicate the show's dynamic.Curt Massey wrote the theme; it didn't change over seven seasons except for a few lines to include Lockhart's character. • 0:00 Black-and-white opening titles (from season one). • 0:54 Color opening titles (Bea Benadaret). • 1:47 Color opening titles (June Lockhart). • 2:40 Color end credits. • 3:15 Filmways.
