The Bunyip, a shadow in the legends of dry forests and swirling waterholes, stalking between the warnings of elders, teeth bared and yellow eyes glinting with hunger for the weak and the young. • Or perhaps there is a different side to the story. Perhaps the bunyip is simply trying to protect itself and its child. • Perhaps the fear surrounding this animal is unjustified. • ... • Perhaps it would be best not to find out. • -- • Bill Wannan in 'Australian Folklore' said local Aboriginals told him bunyips devoured humans, coming up on them in silence and when least expected. • Bushmen and their tales suggest that bunyips are usually seen in swamps near bush shanties. They are never seen by men going to shanties, only by men on their way home... • -- • Watch the making-of video: • Making Of: The Bunyip • -- • Everyone should give a shout-out to Michael for acting like he was being chased by an oversized fluffy lizard and then carrying around a non-existent green jelly-bean with steady enough hands that editing in the baby was actually possible. Also for doing hardcore-parkour in 25 degree heat and getting up at ungodly hours to walk thirty minutes to the film-site (and run back again when I forgot a prop) just so we could get good morning light. • Good god this man is awesome. EVERYONE IN THE COMMENTS GIVE HIM A VIRTUAL COOKIE. • -- • This is my year-twelve multimedia (industrial technology) major work. I'll update when I know what band mark I got for it (EDIT: See below) • The song was composed by Cilla Jane, and is called Into The Woods . The original is far superior! Search it on youtube; the music video is beautiful. • My final ATAR mark for industrial technology multimedia was 96! I assume that means I got a band 6 for this major work. :) This work has also been nominated for InTech 2016, to be displayed at Homebush, Sydney.* Very exciting, and I'm so happy my work paid off! Thank you again to Michael and Mr. Champion for all your help. :D • * The Bunyip was exhibited at InTech in 2016! • -- • Thank you so much to Michael for the early starts and the patience you gave. He's a great actor, and does so much for me without asking anything in return. I bribe him with fudge. Sometimes. • Also thank you to Mr. Champion for the endless support and much-needed encouragement. • There's no way I could have made this without either of you. You guys are stars. :) • Also thank you to Derrek, the violet budgie in the beginning of this video. Rest in peace baby bird.
