Our perma-home is our lifestyle of self-sufficiency. We practice agriculture, home preservation of foods, natural pest control, recycling, and a small amount of production of natural fibers, clothing, and craftwork from items grown on the perma-home for household use or sale. • • We have a keen sense of looking at plants and animals in all their functions to determine their contribution to each other and ourselves as a self-sufficiency method of survival. • • We practice a set of principles developed around whole systems thinking to utilize the behaviors and features we notice in our naturally connected systems. • • We take advantage of renewable energy by using solar electricity. We also plant and grow heirloom vegetables and raise heritage livestock. • • Our ultimate goal is self-sufficiency from our perma-home, in which we need little or no help from outside employment. • • Subscribe for tips on permaculture and homesteading.
