Note: the chainring is 40 tooth, not 42 tooth as I said in the video. • I bought a Kent Ridgeland single speed bike from Walmart for only $98.00 last year. (They now go for $148 on Walmart's web site.) I have had a lot of fun with this basic bike, mostly on a nearby rail trail. Certainly, the neon color scheme is attention grabbing. I guess you either love it or hate it. I think it's a fun look, even if it does look like it escaped from a circus. • I mentioned in the title that this was my last ride on the Ridgeland. Rest assured there is nothing wrong with the bike. In fact, I'd say that for my initial purchase price of $98, it's a darn good bike. But, I don't ride it as much as I probably should, because for my hilly area, I prefer multi-geared bikes. I could try to sell it, but I have a more satisfying idea. • I'm going to donate the bike to a local outreach charity. This group helps low income individuals and families on a number of issues. In the past I've given them bikes I bought cheap and refurbished. These are passed along to folks who lack transportation, so they can get to work and such. And with current fuel prices, I have heard of folks who can't afford the extra cost. So, what is frankly a luxury to me can become a useful tool to someone else. • #KentBicycles #KentRidgeland • Costs: • Initial purchase: $98.00, Walmart superstore • ESI Chunky silicon grips: $17.99, Amazon.com • YHF Sport Saddle: $15.99, Amazon.com • Total: $131.98
