A day at Caversham Wildlife Park • Nestled within Whiteman Park, in Perth’s north, is Caversham Wildlife Park. With family visiting, it was the perfect opportunity to play tourist in our home-state. • It turned out to be an absolutely delightful way to spend the morning. We got there early to avoid the crowds and heat which was the perfect choice. We spent ages hanging out and feeding the kangaroos and wallabies and spent time with some of the local park guides asking questions about the kangaroos. We see kangaroos everyday, but to interact up close and personal like this was so much fun. The park offers a lot more than just hand-feeding kangaroos (even tho that was secretly our favourite part). • We met and interacted with wombats and goats, camels and chickens, donkeys and guinea pigs, llamas and even snakes. We saw horses and sheep and omgosh did I mention the penguins??? Soooo cute! Let’s not forget the quokkas and birds, peacocks and off course, koalas. I’m sure I’ve missed a few! There were shows and tours and we could have spent even longer here, but we had a picnic planned in the park and frankly, we had worked up an appetite and were starving! We did have a quick snack at the cafe (who also serve halal food) whilst our family were buying a few souvenirs in the gift shop. • This isn’t a sponsored post (we’ve never been sponsored lol), but we definitely highly recommend visiting (once this Covid-19 virus is under control and we can travel once again). In the meantime, here is a little peak at what you can look forward to. We hope you enjoy it! • PS - for those concerned about the birds in the enclosures - they are part of the parks breeding and wildlife conservation program ✌️ • It would also be remiss of us not to mention that there is a lot more to Whiteman Park. Outside of Caversham Wildlife Park, there is a children’s forrest and a woodland reserve that make up the environment and conservation part of Whiteman Park. There is also a a Motor Museum, Tractor Museum and you can take Tram Rides and Vintage Train Rides as part of their Transport Heritage. There are tours you can take, shops to visit and plentiful park facilities that include a playground, open-air bbq facilities, a small water park to run around in, cafes and bush walking trails. • You seem nice! 🙂 • Don't forget to like and subscribe, we really appreciate your support! :) • Follow us on Instagram: • / mikeandserina • / serina_sands • / _mikesands_ • About us: • We are Mike and Serina. We love travel, adventure and fitness. One of our most memorable adventures was climbing #MtKinabalu in Sabah, Malaysia. Whilst there are travel restrictions in place, we have decided to take our #hiking adventures local, exploring what Perth and Western Australia have to offer. Join us as we go for weekly hikes and share our adventures. • • For those of you that have been following us for awhile, you will know that Serina was born in #Malaysia and we both love spending time there, visiting friends and family and immersing ourselves in the culture. We hope to go back there as soon as we can, so Mike has been spending time learning how to speak Bahasa Melayu. • • Terimah Kasih, jumpa lagi!
