Echo CS 310, Echo 14 Chainsaw, 30.5 cc, Cutting DANGEROUS Spring Poles... Use the saw horizontally and shave the compression side. As you shave off more and more you'll see the tension relax and release. Then you can cut it pretty safely. I also used vertical release cuts on that same side because horizontal shaving made my chain come off. RELEASE CUTS ARE NOT RECOMMENDED, shaving is. This is a borrowed saw. When I got it, the chain was shot, the gas in the tank had no 50:1 oil in it, and the bar had burnt places on it from no bar oil. I think the reason it took 3 pulls on choke and then another off choke to crank it was because the saw had been run with no 50:1 in the gas. It's a shame it's been treated like that. In spite of its hard life, it ran like a new one and just melted through some ofthe 14 Pine butts. I was really impressed under the circumstances. Come have a look...
