Antonio Lucio Vivaldi, born on March 4, 1678, in Venice, Republic of Venice, was a renowned Italian composer and violinist. He hailed from a musical family; his father, Giovanni Battista Vivaldi, was a professional violinist who introduced young Antonio to the instrument early on. Vivaldi's musical talent became evident despite his health problems, likely asthma, which prevented him from playing wind instruments.
