PNRI's Cobalt-60 Multipurpose Irradiation Facility has demonstrated many of the applications of radiation processing using gamma-rays. • It regularly serves clients from the food, medical products, cosmetics, packaging and pharmaceutical industries. • The Gammacell-220 self-shielded irradiator is used for small volumes of samples requiring low radiation doses which makes it very suitable for research purposes • Meanwhile, PNRI's 2.5 MeV Electron Beam Irradiation Facility is the first of its kind in the country intended for research and development, pilot-scale irradiation and semi-commercial services.
