Trijicon RMR - Darkened Room: • • Response to a person who was not able to see his RMR's red dot in a darkened room. My experience with this optic has been exactly the opposite, and since I did not attempt to show it in the dark in my FNP-45 Tactical review, I'll do that now. • • First up is a shot of what it looks like in a lighted room as a baseline. The camera (a Nikon D5000) doesn't auto-focus in video mode so that's why the perspective changes as I move between the rear sights, the red dot and the front sight. I tried to video this in the dark, I played with the various camera modes and ISO settings. The results were less-than-excellent, so I resorted to taking some stills (which are the last 15 seconds of the video) that show what the RMR looks like in extremely low light. • I think you will see that it is very usable in the dark. Having said that though, I didn't even attempt to show what it looks like while using the TLR-2... trust me the red dot is barely visible to the eye with the tactical light turned on - nothing would show up in a picture. • • By the way, if someone is familiar with the Nikon D5000 and shooting video in the dark, please point me in the right direction and I'll try it again. • • Trijicon RMR Dual Sight 7.0 MOA Amber Dot • • Developed to improve precision and accuracy with any style or caliber of weapon, the Trijicon RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) is designed to be as durable as the legendary ACOG.
