Your country, Asgarnia, is 10 billion in debt, particularly to survivors of the Falador Massacre. Secessionism, intolerance, and unemployment are rampant. But in the midst of that, you still find time to sleep over at your girlfriend's house, while watching the news about the Zamorakian dictatorship next door who keeps threatening to destroy your entire country. At least you don't live there. • Well now you do. • On Septober 32, Year 169 of the Fifth Age, Draynoria finally acts on its threats. In just three days its army completely conquers Asgarnia. To everyone's surprise, however, Draynorian Supreme Leader Nigel Karan calls for a vote. He promises the Asgarnian people no more reparations to Falador Massacre victims, as the entire massacre was faked by charlatans who just want your money! In Karan's words the witnesses came from an entire civilization of liars – the Armadylists, who under Karan will be permanently banned from entering the country. Finally, every citizen will be guaranteed a contribution both to and from the national community, so long as they are not weak. The annexation is approved with resounding cheers. Well, however valid you consider cheers from a small sample of the population, trapped within a building by the Karanist secret police. • But at what price? Under Karan's Good Genes Laws entire families are held responsible and receive the same punishment for any crime one of their relatives commits, from littering to protesting the state. Draynorians receive 1.5x the amount of food as ethnic Asgarnians, and 3x that of Armadylists still trapped in the occupied zone. (Which is only 800 calories per day... good luck living on that!) Indeed, Armadylists suffer the bulk from Karan's dictatorship. There are public lists of everyone who is an Armadylist for non-Armadylists to make use of it as they please. National-Zamorakianism, Karan's official ideology, combines Zamorak's survival of the strong idea with diehard Nationalism and Racism. Which is why, for every Draynorian soldier killed by resistance, 10 randomly selected Asgarnians will be executed, for no reason whatsoever. • When you're forced to worship a state that is trying to kill you at every possible moment, is life even worth living?
