Terraria 1307 Expert Duke Fishron kill Melee

Duke Fishron is a very powerful side boss whose drops are even more powerful and really useful for the next part of the game. • -------------------------------------- • BATTLE EXPLANATION • -------------------------------------- • THE BATTLEGROUND: • You'll be battling Fishron near the ocean, because taking him outisde his biome will enrage him. • Cover the ocean with platforms and place a second row high enough to surpass the Cthulhunados. Beware of going too high, or you'll reach the space. • Consider placing shorter platforms between the long ones to grapple to them. • You can do this fight inside the water if you bring Neptune's Shell or any of its upgrades. • Cover the area with Campfires, Heart Lanterns and Stars in Bottles. • GENERAL STRATEGY: • NOTE: Fishron's bubble attacks are bugged as of 1.3.0.7 and he won't shoot them, even if he makes the corresponding animation. • The Duke moves fast and hits hard. Your dodging skills will be put to the test when you decide to tackle him. • He has three phases. All of them are similar to the previous one, but his speed and damage increases with each one. • During his first phase Fishron will lunge towards you, attemping to make contact damage. Run, dash and fly up and down to dodge him. • From time to time he'll stop to shoot two homing water wheels. This proyectiles dissapear on contact and spawn Cthulhunados in that position. • The Cthulhunados grow upwards and shoot Sharknados at you. Avoid touching or getting caught between them, and get away so you have more room to dodge or kill the Sharks. • His third attack is shooting a barrage of homing bubbles. These can be destroyed to prevent having them in the way. • After half of Fishron's health is gone, he'll start his second phase. His attacks remain the same, but he'll get faster and deadlier. The Cthulhunados will grow higher and he'll spit more bubbles while making loops in the air. The same straegies apply. • His final form is expert mode exclusive. It'll start when you get his HP below 10%. The Duke will only use his charge, but he becomes invisible and you can only see his eyes right before he attacks. It's very hard to avoid being damaged when he's like this, but I'll give you some tips that can help. • Follow his eyes to see where is he coming from. His health bar appears when he's about to pounce. You can also open the minimap to see him all the time. • Moving vertically very fast will make him miss. Drop from the highest platforms and use your grappling hook to get back up. Flying regularly works sometimes, but don't rely too much on it. Use the grappling hook speed. • If the boss catches you while you're on the ground, dashing under him as soon as the eyes appear, or dashing away in diagonal can save you. • Read the specific strategy section for further advice. Unlike with other bossess, there are huge differences between classes for this final part of the battle. • EQUIPMENT AND SPECIFIC STRATEGY: • You've never needed mobility as much as against Fishron. Equip your best wings, boots and the Master Ninja Gear or the Shield of Cthulhu. • Equip damage boosting accesories on the remaining slots and reforge everything to menacing. You can try with other items if you want, but the extra damage is really important for Fishron's last form. • As a Warrior, the only viable weapons are those that can attack at a distance, but deal melee damage. • The Terrablade and the Paladin's Hammer are good options, but since you'll focus on dodging, a weapon with homing capabilities is a better choice. • The Possesed Hatchet is the ideal candidate for the fight. It's fast, powerful and homes in. • If your world has corruption, the Scourge of the Corruptor works well for most of the battle, but can be problematic at the end because the tiny eaters are not very fast. • If your world has crimson, use the Vampire Knives to heal yourself if your health drops below 300. Craft Flasks of Ichor to lower the enemy defense. • Assuming you wear Beetle Armor, use the Shell. The damage reduction from the bettles will help you withsand the boss' hits, specially on the last phase.
